The National Patient Safety Goals (NPSG), University of Michigan Hospitals and Health Centers (UMHHC) are some of the integrated programs focused on patient safety initiatives. This should be in compliance with the joint commission standards for patient safety. â€Å"The purpose of the National Patient Safety Goals is to improve patient safety. The goals focus on problems in health care safety and how to solve them† (Hospital National Patient Safety Goals, 2011). The national patient safety goals motive is to improve patient safety. Efficient patient safety implies identification of all the risks that affect the safety of the patients. Efficient patient safety is a systematic process which involves examining of different activities that is needed to ensure the safety of patients. The patient safety program is to reduce medical hazards and errors so that patient safety can be increased. The accreditation audit for patient safety needs careful planning and analysis such as reviewing and modifying the organizational processes so that there is compliance with the joint commission standards on national patient safety initiative.
