Writing an MLA Essay
Writing an MLA EssayIf you have ever read any research on the Internet, you may have come across the word 'sample' being used. In this case, it is a reference to a written sample. In other words, a sample argumentative essay, also known as a thesis statement. As any good student will tell you, an argumentative essay is a detailed explanation of a certain topic in a way that does not look like anything that you have ever seen before. It is a presentation of a thesis with respect to a subject and the intended audience. This has always been an essential part of learning how to write and deliver an argumentative essay. The first thing that is to be said is that it must be clear from the start what the main body of the essay is about. The thesis statement should be as specific as possible and if the sample is less specific, then it is not a good example of writing. You need to remember that a thesis statement is not for an argumentative essay but only for outlining and communication of an i dea. Then you must tell your reader what you are arguing and why you are saying it. You will use the examples of your example statement to go through your argument. You cannot just begin your argument by saying 'I am here to explain why...' In order to do this, you have to clearly state your argument and its support. The next most important part of writing a thesis statement is your supporting statements. Supporting statements are what make up the backbone of your argument. They can be as close to the main body of your argument as you want, but they should never be totally out of view. When you read the support statements, you will know where you are going to start.Thefinal support statement will show how much you agree with the main body and should show your agreement with every statement made by the main body. The best way to use this final support statement is to write it under the examples you used. Then write a statement under the example that you agree with each statement made b y the example. After this is done, you will need to go back to the main body of your argument. It is this second part of your paper that will really make a statement on the subject that you are writing about. For example, if you are writing about death, you will talk about how you believe that death is the end for all things and you will explain why.MLA for argumentative essays is something that is usually time consuming and requires a lot of effort on your part. But if you are making a statement on a topic that you are very passionate about, it will probably pay off in the end. Good luck and happy writing!
